In-Home & Office Lactation Consultations

IBCLC help , your home or my office with easy parking

The most challenging breastfeeding issues happen after hours or when you don't have the energy to leave the house. You can even get help during the witching period or during your postpartum period in the hospital.

LACTATION CONSULTS ARE FOR PARENTS WHO

  • Want to check in on breastfeeding/pumping/chestfeeding

  • Are you experiencing nipple or breast/chest pain

  • Whose babies are fussy when latching or nursing

  • Experiencing frustration with latching

  • Are unsure if their baby is getting enough

  • Whose baby is showing a bottle preference

  • Are you going back to work

  • They are expecting and doubting their bodies' ability to produce milk

  • Feel their body is producing too much milk

  • Are you experiencing any doubt or frustration with breastfeeding

  • Whose baby is supplementing or dropping in weight

The two things most parents worry about with lactation is nipple pain and their baby getting enough. According to the CDC these are also the most common reasons for weaning. You don't have to go through this worry alone. I know breastfeeding and you know your baby/body/ life best, together we can come up with a plan.

WHAT HAPPENS IN A LACTATION CONSULT?

I LEARN MORE ABOUT YOU, YOUR BABY, AND YOUR LIFE

Through forms and conversation, I learn more about you, your baby, and your life. A care plan only works if it meets your lifestyle and feels doable. This portion also includes learning more about your and your baby's health. Tip: If your baby's pediatrician has an online patient portal, you can find your baby's past weight here.

WE CHECK THINGS OUT

This is the portion where we observe a breastfeeding/chestfeeding session. I will give you the tools to check for signs of milk transfer, and we will troubleshoot if needed. I will guide you through checking your baby's mouth if needed.

WE MAKE A PLAN AND UPDATE THE PLAN

This last portion is where we use the information from the previous steps to create a plan. All consults include one month of email follow-up so you can check in on how things are going. Send me updated weights, and we will update the plan as needed.
