In-Home & Office Pumping Consultations

IBCLC help, your home or my office with easy parking

Unfortunately, many IBCLCs are not trained in pumping and flange fitting, and this leaves many parents with inflammation and a lower production than possible. All parents who are pumping should have an IBCLC who understands the science of pumping and has a variety of flanges for the client to try.

PUMPING CONSULTS ARE FOR PARENTS WHO

  • Want to check in on the pump fit

  • Are exclusively pumping

  • Are you experiencing nipple or breast/chest pain with pumping

  • Whose nipples look puffy after pumping

  • Experiencing frustration with pumping

  • Are not pumping enough to feed their baby

  • Who are not able to find a comfortable size through a mini session

  • Are going back to work

  • Feel their body is producing too much milk

  • Are unsure of how to use their pump or if they may need a new pump

  • Are using a wearble pump

WHAT HAPPENS IN A PUMPING CONSULT?

I LEARN MORE ABOUT YOU, YOUR BABY, AND YOUR LIFE

I learn more about you, your baby, and your life through forms and conversation. A care plan only works if it meets your lifestyle and feels doable. This portion also includes learning more about you and your pumping needs.

WE CHECK THINGS OUT

This is the portion where I measure your nipples, observe a pump session, and observe you try on several sizes. The best size will provide the most comfort and be the best at removing your milk.

WE MAKE A PLAN AND UPDATE THE PLAN

This last portion is where we use the information from the previous steps to create a plan. This plan will vary based on your pumping goals and how close you are to them.
